Photographs of Great Barrier Island.  While these images show the impressive scenery of the island still awaiting is the experience of being here.  There are a variety of scenic experiences on offer from the white sandy beaches of Harataonga, Whangapoua, Awana, Kaitoke and Medlands to the bush covered hills and peaks.  A variety of walking tracks give opportunities to explore natural hot springs, climb to the highest point, Mt Hirakimata (Mt Hobson), visit a restored Kauri Dam on the Kaiaraara Stream and to enjoy the regenerating forest and bush.
