Great Barrier Island, 90 km NE of Auckland has a regular schedule of flights and ferries to/rom the island.  Timetables change for winter/summer.  A regular bus service runs between Tryphena and Port FitzRoy once a day and shuttles, taxis, rental cars, 4wd, vans and tour buses as well as electric bikes and scooters are available.
